While we were delighted to be invited to the public meeting held by Council to inform as well as to gain feedback regarding the up coming drainage works for the CBD, it was disappointing to see so few of the public there. The ratio of Council to interested members of the public was about 4 to 1.
I would have thought something as important as the flooding issues in the past would have raised a lot of community interest. But I was wrong.
So now when they start digging trenches in the CBD, and start diverting traffic around the works I’m sure we’ll hear about. But really does anyone have right to complain when they haven’t taken the time to even go to an information evening. . .
